For a special centennial evening event
Everyone is welcome to join us for the Centennial Senior Banquet. Please note that if you are under the age of 18 you must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or adult over the age of 21.
What is a Senior Banquet?
Camp Hochelaga's Centennial Senior Banquet Event is a tribute to Camp's long standing tradition - Senior Banquet. Traditionally, Senior Banquet takes place on the second to last night of the summer season each year. A group of older campers, with the support of 1 or 2 dedicated counselors, get together to pick a theme for the evening, and design the menu and decorations. On the day of Senior Banquet everyone at camp heads to the beach for an all-day beach party. The committed and tireless Senior Banquet campers and staff stay behind to transform the entire lodge and prepare for the evening event. Upon returning from the beach, campers and staff alike get a bit dressed up and gather at the flagpole, filled with energy and anticipation for the big unveiling of the Banquet theme.
When you enter the lodge for Senior Banquet you feel as though you have been transported to another world. The props, decorations, full wall murals and special menu create a magical feeling of togetherness in unforgettable moments. Whether it is the mysteries of Alice in Wonderland (2017), or the cozy feel of a '50s Diner (2018), all of camp is together in this one of a kind experience.
The Senior Banquet meal is followed by the end of season awards ceremony. Lead by the Camp Director and many members of the staff team, campers are presented with awards and honors specific to uniquely impressive accomplishments or impacts on the Hochelaga community.
