Year-Round Camp Director Position Open
Are you looking for an opportunity to lead a phenomenal camp community in a gorgeous outdoor setting on the shores of Lake Champlain in South Hero, Vermont? YWCA Vermont is seeking a qualified, experienced camp professional to be Camp Hochelaga’s Camp Director. Established in 1919, Camp Hochelaga serves more than 700 girls and non-binary youth through traditional residential and day camp programming each season. Under the mission of eliminating racism and empowering women, Camp Hochelaga provides camp experiences focused on empowering young people to learn, grow, and build positive, lifelong friendships. Camp Hochelaga’s Camp Director works year-round to ensure the continued success of all summer camp programs, shoulder season programs, public relations, marketing, alumni engagement, development and donor stewardship, site maintenance and capital improvements, and community partnerships. This is a high-level leadership position requiring an adaptable, experienced individual with a strong ability to effectively prioritize, thrive in a fast-paced work environment, provide positive supervision for a large team, and maintain consistently professional communication with a large community. Qualifications include experience in summer camp leadership and at least 3 years as a supervisor. This is a full-time, year round position with a salary commensurate with experience, benefits available.

Camp Health Officer
Provide leadership for our campers and staff in their cabin lives, making camp feel like home! Cabins are split up by "line," designating the age of campers. You can lead Lower Mid Line (ages 6-10), Upper Mid Line (ages 11-13) or Senior Line (ages 13-16).
Head of CITs/ACs
Help us build our camp leaders of the future! Support our newest leaders at camp by teaching our Counselors-In-Training (age 16) and offering professional development guidance to our Assistant Counselors (age 17).
Promote environmental leadership, hands on learning, wilderness skill building, collaboration across differences, and empowerment through wilderness adventure trip experiences for youth and staff during the camp season!
Provide leadership on Camp Hochelaga's waterfront this summer. Supervise a large lifeguard team, work with the Program Coordinator to schedule waterfront activities, and provide risk management.
Bring your passion for preparing healthy food for kids this summer! Work with an enthusiastic team to prepare meals using many local, fresh ingredients. Residential and Day-Only positions available.
Lead and support Camp Hochelaga's Day Camp Program! Provide support and supervision for a staff team of 4, communicate with families, work with the Program Coordinator to schedule Day Camp specific activities. Residential or Mon-Fri day only options available.
Summer Staff Employment Dates: 2021
Full staff: June 13th - August 15th, 2021 (Staff Training Week June 13th - 18th)
Leadership Staff (Waterfront Director, Day Camp Director, Heads of Line, Head of CITs/ACs, Program Coordinator, Trips Coordinator): June 5th - August 15th, 2021 (Leadership Training June 5th - 9th, then join full staff training)
Certifications (open to all interested staff) Lifeguarding, Boating, Archery: June 9th - 11th
