We’re so excited to welcome you!
Welcome to Camp Hochelaga!
What to Expect when you arrive for Check-In!
Arrival
Our amazing staff will be so excited to greet you! They will direct you to park at the proper location on Senior Field near Little Brown where check-in will take place.
Please ensure that you arrive at the correct time according to your campers grade level:
Senior Line (rising 9th - 11th grade): 2pm - 3pm Arrival Time
Upper Mid (rising 6th - 8th grade): 3pm - 4pm Arrival Time
Lower Mid (rising 1st - 5th grade): 4pm - 5pm Arrival Time
Because we have so many amazing camp families, as well as are a quaint camp road situated amongst our South Hero neighbors, it is very important you stick to the appropriate time slot as well as follow the town 25mph speed limit. If you have two campers attending in different age groups, please pick the earliest designated check-in time.
What’s next?
Once you have arrived at camp, all campers will get a lice check to make sure they are camp ready. (Please note - if your camper has lice, we will ask them to return home and do a treatment before returning to camp.)
The Camp Director, Assistant Director, and Business and Operations Manager will greet you and get your camper signed in and assigned to their cabin and ensure all forms have been properly completed!
While your camper is getting checked in, you will check in with the camp nurse and provide and necessary medications or supplements. We will provide necessary first aid, but supplements, melatonin, and other medication need to be handed to the camp nurse.
Anything else?
We are a tech free camp.
Please make sure when you say your “see you laters” to your camper, you bring any camper devices with you (phones, tablets, laptops etc.). If your camper is attending and needs additional communication device (communication pads, etc.) support, please reach out to our team! We would love to work with you and your camper to ensure they are have what they need to be successful at camp. Pack lots of books, writing and drawing materials, or coloring books!
We are a nut free camp.
Please do not pack or mail any snacks that may contain peanuts. Also - please do not pack any snacks with your campers luggage. Our cabins are beautifully located within the natural setting, which means small critters love our snacks! Counselors will ensure to keep any necessary snack items safely stowed away in plastic tubs.
We do not accept packages.
We do not accept camper care packages. We serve a large diverse group of campers that do not all have the same access. To ensure equity, love, and less trash at camp - we please ask that you only send letters. If there is a birthday or special exception, please reach out to our team.
Getting Settled
Once you have checked in with the camp nurse, our lovely team of counselors will direct you to your cabin.
Your camper’s cabin counselor will be waiting to welcome you and your family to settle into your new space. Once your camper is settled, take some photos, give hugs goodbye and wish them an amazing time at camp!
Once you have said your “see you laters,” your camper will get changed and ready for their swim test down at our beautiful lakeside waterfront.
